Every adult should take some time to provide for the future
by making a will. A will is the way in which you can be confident
that your affairs will be settled as you wish. Whether you
have few possessions or many, for peace of mind, and to remove
some anxiety from your family you should have a will. The
primary reason for making a will is to leave your property
to those you care about, and in the proportions you choose.
For further information about why you need a will, please
go to why
you need a will (one of our 'Brief Facts' documents).
When you have done all you can for your family, please consider
that leaving a gift in your will to the Cancer Society Wellington
Division is one of the best gifts you can give to your children
and your community. The money you leave may help fund a medical
breakthrough that sees the end of cancer.
Bequests form a major part of the Cancer Society's income
and much of our work could not continue if not for the foresight
and generosity of past benefactors.
Have your will prepared at no cost
using your own solicitor
On the understanding that the Cancer Society is listed as
a beneficiary in your will, the Wellington Division will meet
reasonable legal costs involved in the preparation of your
will. After you have finalised the terms of your will, (we
do not need to see a copy) simply arrange for your lawyer
to send the account to the Cancer Society Wellington Division.
A fee exceeding $150.00 will require our prior approval.
